Photo-Palm Tree & Alex VS. Mimi

Well, I finally found out today WHY there is a palm tree in the corner of my yard directly under the power lines, where it can only cause trouble for my future.. We already know that BLUE JAY are to blame for many bad things in life and here again they live up to their reputation. This palm tree was indeed planted by a Blue Jay. Oh Yeah, how did I find out???  Jackie and Jerry from Idaho (who lived in this house for 40 years) stopped by for a visit. It was nice. I showed them all the fun things I did to the yard and house and got to ask a few questions that have been on our minds. Like why don't the bushes on the side of the house want to grow? She said, "they never did" and she couldn't keep a garden there either. So here I thought it was me and it never was. Anyway, it was a nice visit. I'm sorry Chris wasn't here for it. I'm sure he has different and more questions than I..  :)

It has been a busy day for not having anything planned. I had a friend stop by at 9, then another at 10:30 and then right after she left Jackie and Jerry came over. Poor Alex was about 2 hours past his nap and VERY tired. He kept pulling me towards the house to put him down. :( You better believe he's asleep now.  This pic is of our neighbors new puppy.. I'm about this close to getting one myself.. It's a combo of Chihuahua and Pug. In the dog world, it's a CHUG!.. The cutest ever. I have a client that has one. It's very confusing when her and Libby are together cause her name is Lilly.. Anyway, this is Mimi.  But Chris would kill me (my parents too) if I got another dog. One is good for now.. I suppose I could babysit this  one and then Libby would just have a friend for a day. That would work better.

Well, off to work. Alex is finally asleep and I'm blogging, go figure..

Photo-Working Hard

I think it's safe to say that I work hard at my weddings.. :)  (Chris-the sniper- took this picture from the roof top of the house)(My behavior calls for me to wear pants or capris at weddings.) This made me nervous when I was once REQUIRED to wear a dress. not good.

At this wedding, I cut my knee and bled through my pant leg so there was blood all over my cream pants at the knee. At this last wedding, I backed into some lights the DJ had on the floor and burned my leg.. I cut my food open at another wedding. I think I should get insurance.???? Oh, yeah, when I was pregnant, I fell off of a chair. Someone caught me. I was fine, but scared everyone else. Funny.

Happy Birthday Susie

Happy Birthday Susie!  Look at Aiden, he's so young in this picture, he doesn't have any teeth.. :)

See everyone tonight. Where, don't know yet.

Photo(s)-Our Hard Work

So here is the result of our hard work. I wanted a gate by the side of the house to keep Alex out of the "scary stuff" like the lawn mower, extra wood, tables etc.  Chris did an awesome job building the gate and we promised eachother we wouldn't fight (we did okay) and yeah it's done. Good Job Honey. While he worked on that, I stayed out of his way with my own projects. Which included: replacing all the old solar lights, planting an orange tree, two hydrangeas, one bush with orange and yellow flowers, AND I set up the fountain that was given to me by a friend.  It was a great day. And all possible by Linda who watched and kept Alex out of our way for the 6 hours we needed to complete all of this.  This last photo is us at our friends house and Alex has  discovered the guitar and wants to be like his daddy.  He really liked it.

Working Night & Day

So, I've been working literally night and day on Christabel & Darrell's wedding album.. My brain is mush.. But I'm very glad I got it done. I think it took me about 20 hours when all said and done. I'm much faster with the design part, but there are a 1000 steps to getting it on the internet, I won't even  get into it.. Anyway, if anyone wants to look, here is a link. I like the way it turned out. and of course, again, we have great memories from this wedding as well.. Remember though, this was back in April before the kidney stones. So, it's been a long time coming for this poor couple. They've been waiting awhile..  That's why I've got Alex at the sitters 3x a week now and trying desperately to get caught up.. Have a good night, it's  back to work for me.

Photo-My All Time Favorite

This is my all time favorite photo I have ever taken.. Ever!  I know it's been taken a million times, but I love it.. If I could do anything in this world, I would love to swim with the fresh water stingless jelly fish on Survivor. I'm serious!

Chris' drinking problem

Just kidding, he doesn't have one.. :)  But I do think I'm going to let him drink more often, he talks more....................

Photo-Working

Someone snapped these photos of Chris and I working.. (the Groom's mom sent them to me :)  Thanks! )

This was last Saturdays wedding, Jessica & Brad.. Let me just say, She was beautiful and at 101 degrees, I was not!  I was not so cute at this wedding and had I been drunk like the cowboy, I may have joined him in the lake.

No Photo- Just Venting

So some credit card company called me this morning at 6:30. Woke me up and then never said anything. After I said hello several times I then said, "you called me at 6:30 in the morning, the least you could do is have the decency to say something." Still nothing. they finally hung up, so I called them back (this is how I found out who they were). So I finally spoke to some one and let them have it. Saying that they had woken up my baby (even though they hadn't) and on and on..

Now I can't go back to sleep..  Thanks to a stupid New Yorker that doesn't know their time zone........

I kind of slacked over the weekend.. I think I'll just take the weekends off from posting photos. But now that's it's Monday, I found this cute photo of Chris. Of course I didn't take the photo, but I thought it would be cute to share. Sweet, huh?

Photo-New Store

Here are a couple of shots of the new store location inside of Surroundings. It's cozy and perfect for this point in my life.. I did say through the drama of loosing the other location that God had a different plan that I wasn't aware of and that everything was going to be fine. It always is.

Photo-Original or Funky?

So I took this nice photo in my front yard while Alex was watering (sometimes me) and then when I looked at it this afternoon, getting ready to post it... I thought, why not try something different? I usually like things just the way they are.. What do you think?

Photo-Hydrangea

I've decided to do a photo a day after coming across someone's blog.. Yes, I'm stealing an idea.. Maybe it will lighten my mood and take my mind off other parts of my life.

This is in my back yard at the moment. I really thought I was doing something wrong for the last 2 years and as it turns out, I was. I wasn't using Miracle Grow. Now I do.

Miracles

Do you believe in Miracles?  I do..  Chris found his iPod in my car.. I do and have always believed in miracles.  And not for just iPods.. Yeah, I don't have to buy him a new one and he doesn't have to be bored on airplanes.

Happy Mother's Day! I got a new baby!

So, I guess it was just time to trade Alex in for a new baby.  I'm not sure if he agrees. He looks a little worried here.  None the less, we're going in..

This is Trina, and being that we are in Bakersfield, I know her.. So that's nice that I know the person giving Alex is very 1 st haircut.. Thanks Trina, sorry I cried through the whole thing.

"Hey, I'm done! Take this stupid thing off of me!"
I think he's ready to join the military.

But seriously, I don't recognize him at all.  I keep asking him, "who are you?"
I already started to teach him how to salute.

Happy Mother's Day!

Moving & Water Fun

Well with all the drama that I can't get into on a blog, we are moving out of the store this Sat. It's been such a sad situation.. For something that was working so well to come to an end is tragic.  I'll take a pic Sat. before I tear down and post it for those who never got to see it..

I signed Alex up for swim lessons, so those will be cute photos for the blog..

I also am talking with Rachel about planning a day trip for our family (pretty much for the kids) to go to Clovis Lakes Wild Water Adventures.. The plan for now is Sat. June 28th.. Please let me know if you're interested.. I really want this to happen.. If  I can get us a group rate, that will be better for us all..  Here is a link to the park.

Puppy Teeth

So Alex went to my moms on Sat. while we shot a wedding (which went great) and they went out to a friends house in Stallion Springs to see her new White Lab puppies. All fun until one of the puppies latched on and got his little sharp tooth caught in Alex's hand.. Poor Alex..

Side note: I'm not at all mad... Not even in the slightest!  I know he will continue to get hurt for the rest of his life, at least for the next 20+ years.. Anyway, so, it looked fine but seemed very red to me. So I scrubbed it good, added Cirtuscept (yes dad) and ointment and put a big bandage on it. I found some self sticking gauge tape that works great.. Because of course he wants to take it off. I think he's finally taken a liking to it now..   Anyway, I'm not blogging about this because I'm mad or whatever about the puppies, I'm blogging about it because he looks so cute all bandaged up and we've been calling him gimpy.. :)

That's all except my wonderful cousin Jimmy came all the way from Fresno to look at our AC and our variable speed fan is out..  So for now he's going to get the new part and come back a fix it..  I feel bad that he has to come all the way from Fresno, but I trust him and it's worth it to me to pay extra for gas or whatever.. Besides, he's my cousin..

Dinner

Was really good..

Ground Turkey

So I was searching for a recipe to make tonight for dinner.. and I found this and am going to try it out.. sounds good and simple. (I'll put it at the bottom) Chris made an amazing pork tenderloin last night.. Good job Chris.. It was great, Alex and I watered the flowers and laid in the front yard counting and stacking rocks and Chris made dinner. It was a nice change.

Here's the recipes.

Kerri's Yummy Stuffed Peppers: (got it off a forum)

  • 4 Med. green peppers (tops removed, seeds removed)
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. Oregano
  • 1 tsp. Basil
  • 3/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. Sage
  • S & P  to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 6 oz. cream cheese (I'll use fat-free tonight)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. shredded  cheese of choice (again with the fat-free)

Core and de-seed the peppers. Boil in salted water for 5 minutes (for firmer peppers, don't boil).  Place in a casserole dish. Preheat oven to 350.

Brown onion and turkey in large saucepan. Drain and add the spices and Worcestershire sauce. Over low-med heat, add the tomato sauce and cream cheese  and mix until blended. Turn off heat and add the egg and 3/4 c. of shredded cheese and mix well.

Spoon the mixture into each pepper, top with remaining cheese and Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.

We'll see what happens..
