Stupid Popeyes!!!

Well, we were excited about going until we all got food poisoning from Popeyes Chicken..  I started with diarrhea and finished with vomiting twice..  Chris started a few hours after me but got it much worst.. He vomited every hour from midnight til 10 am and then more later in the afternoon.. The baby just had diarrhea, thank goodness.  I lost 4 pounds from all of that. We barely did or ate anything all day. Finally I made some chicken soup and we just did the broth part..   Lord help us.. We really want to go tomorrow and are praying for restful sleep and to be healthy in the morning. Sorry if this was gross..  I'm missing Alex terribly already.. But I'm almost too sick to notice he's not here.. This is bad............

2 days Left

So my mind is going crazy with  all the things I need to remember for Hawaii.. In only 2 days.. And then I found out this morning that the Limo will be picking us up first, Not Last like I had hoped.. 4 am is way earlier than 5 am... But I guess this is a good thing. Then the other people don't have to come into our ghetto neighborhood and see the people tagging in the early morning hours when normal people are sleeping. Nuts!

I need to remember things like my camera strap which I never use. A backpack for hiking, the camcorder... and tons of other stuff..

I cried all day on Sunday at the thought of leaving or just being away from Alex. I think I got it out of my system for now. I don't want it to ruin our time. I don't want to think about him not being comfortable where he is, why is he not in his bed, where is his mom and dad, why am I not playing all our silly mommy and baby games that only we do, and  why is daddy not holding him to sleep at night..  It's torture. I know he'll be with people who love him: grandparents, but it's just not the same. You just can't replace your parents. I know he'll be totally fine during the day. He goes to day care a couple of days a week and has a  blast all day.. But the nights are what worry me. He's just soooooo smart...

I also don't want him to do anything new.. He has started walking and so I'm glad we were here for that. I actually got him on tape taking 10 steps towards Chris.. It was awesome!!  Well, it will  what what it is. Chris & Al worked really hard for this trip and they deserve to have a great time. So, I'll try to cry in the shower or something.  :(

For now I'll just concentrate on packing, planning and spending great time with Alex.
Aloha!

Easter In Tehachapi

We went to Vicki's house 1st on Sat. for some B-day / Easter visiting. Alex had a blast on the swing (have to get one) and crawling through the sidewalk chalk..

Then we went to Tehachapi for Church and a day with the family. Church was great and Gabe delivered a great message about all the facts that support the fact that Jesus really did rise from the dead 3 days later. And then we went to Rachel and Ian's new home where Rachel went all out on Candy, Prizes, Fun & Food... It was great.. Ian did a great job on the meat (as usual) and everyone had a fun time. They have a great mountain to hide eggs on. Emma did really good finding eggs because she's walking now. Alex needed a little assistance and then did fine.
Sam had a lizard and shared it with all of us.
Including Alex, who had no clue what was going on or that there was a lizard on his head.
Alex wanted to see what was in Emma's basket, but she didn't want to show him.. Really I think he wanted to take her eggs and she wasn't going to let him. Smart girl.
The family all got together for a big photo and I think it turned out the best it could of.. I think Rachel's is better than mine. The Family consisted of my family (Crigers), Chris' family and Rachel's family. Fun times...
Leah finding I think the last egg. Good job Leah.
My mom walking with Alex while Dad took pictures from the side. Can't wait to see them.
Now Aiden "My Nephew" is turning out to be quite the photographer. Good Job Aiden!!!
Little Miss Sunshine!
A Very Pooped Baby!!!!!
Thanks for the fun day.. Can't wait til next year!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. We are spending the day in Tehachapi with Chris's family and Rachel's family at Rachel & Ian's new home. Should be a wonderful day. I've already checked the weather. They have a ton of great places to hid eggs and the kids can't wait. Here is a pic of Alex at 14 months. He's growing sooo fast.. It makes me cry, he's so cute.

Blogging

It's funny.  I blog sometimes and then completely erase what I just wrote.  Let's just say, I hate money or really the lack there of.  I wish Chris would come home. Sat. is a long ways away.............

Happiness

I'm not sure anyone knows this about me except Chris (probably my mom-in-law) but I have a thing for tiny ice cubes. So, I  finally got the perfect trays. Actually Aunt Gita may know because I have tried on several occasions to steal her ice cube trays but never did, because then her life wouldn't have tiny ice cubes in it. Anyhow, I now have my own and in one shot I can make 720 cubes. Yeah for ordering things off the internet.  This is a very good thing...  My summer is going to be GREAT!!!

This Past Week

Here are so pics of Alex being Sick. I'm glad he's starting to feel better. In fact, I was so glad that he actually ate something for dinner on Sunday and I cried. It's been rough. Today the other eye is swollen and this eye is better.   He was finally happy with just a spoon full of peanut butter..  He get's that from his great-grandpa Tom.

Smart Alex

So first story is that Alex took his first 2 steps on Sat. when Chris and I were playing with him on the floor. I cried of course .

Second story. Alex was sitting on my bed and I had a bottle of Vicks Chest rub in my hands playing with it. (not his vapor rub=his is different and in his room) So, he starts rubbing his chest like he's signing "please". But he doesn't know please yet so I can only assume that he wants vapor rub. So I asked him and he did.. He's so cute. I put it on and he got the biggest grin.. I love him!!!

Chris & Alex Part II

Chris has arrived in Madison, Al and is sound asleep.. He did get to watch "Dan in real life" I think that was the title and said that it was okay. I would have like to talk to him longer, but I knew he needed his sleep. He's training a ton of people this week. A ton really being about 100+. So I hope he gets his breakfast.

Alex has had a black eye all day from it being swollen and finally coming down. He seemed to do better with the new medicine. We walked the bluffs with a friend and he enjoyed meeting Tess, the rescued American Shepard. She was very sweet. I love meeting other peoples dogs. But it does make me dislike mine more. Then I like her again at bedtime when she keeps me warm and safe.

All is finally well and I have nothing else to complain about tonight. Next post will be something funny. I promise.

Chris & Alex

It has already been a terrible week for us with our health and then now Chris is leaving again. I think this trip is too close to the last trip. He was only home for a week and we spent it sick. So, his new trip started with a bang.. Last night he burned his pinky finger really bad on a light bulb outside.. So, we took care of the burn and tried to watch the movie we had rented. We had already been trying to watch the other movie. It's funny how a 2 hour movie can turn into a 4 -5 hour movie when you have children.. Anyway, 1 movie down 1 to go. So now Alex is asleep (coughing) and we're going to watch "Into The Wild" The main guys name is Chris and then changes it to Alex. Great.. So I cry through the whole thing (on my period) saying that if Alex ever leaves me like that and doesn't tell me where he is, I'll kill him.. Anyway, we got to bed very late, like 2am and Chris had to get up at 5 am to catch his plane, which he missed.. So now he won't arrive into Alabama until 9 pm ish and still will have a 2 hour drive from there. He was only 2 minutes late to the counter and because Bak. Airport is so small there is only one person working the counter. Then they leave and take the people to the plane. So no one at the counter and no self electronic check in.. If they had had that he would of made that flight.. Stupid small airports. Anyway, so it's going to be a long day for Chris.

Meanwhile, Alex coughed all night and woke to have his left eye swollen almost shut. So, I took him to the Dr. again and he now has new antibiotics and allergy medicine. I hope this makes him better.. I'm about this close to moving to Mammoth... out of this forsaken valley.. Or maybe Maine.

Telephone

I must talk on the phone too much. Alex has started pushing buttons on the phone and then handing it to me or putting it to my or Chris' ear. The other day I was talking and I said "alrighty then" and Alex said "bye" knowing that I was going to say bye. I guess I say the same thing every time I get off the phone. Too cute. But as far as our sicknesses go, I took him to the Dr. yesterday and she said it was a virus and Just wait it out, that he would be better while he slept.. But he's not sleeping. So she said I could give him 1/2 tsp. of Benadryl and boy did he sleep. He got a 3 hour nap and slept all night last night. And sure enough, he is feeling better. So am I. The whole time he slept, I slept. Then Chris came home and also slept for 3 hours. Sleeping is the key..

Alex

Alex had a fever last night of 102. I think he's getting another tooth. He finally went to sleep around 3:30 am. Me and Chris are tired. We took turns staying up with him. He's doing a little better this morning. The fever went away last night but was back to 100 something this morning. At least he drank his juice. Poor guy. :(
