Chris and I haven't been out on a real date in almost 3 years.
So, last night we had a good friend come over, Shawna, and she stayed with the kids. They got off to a good start. Being in his own environment really helped Alex be okay with us leaving. For those of you who don't know, when Alex gets upset about something (ie. us leaving him somewhere) he cries hysterically until he pukes... everywhere... So as you can see, it makes it hard for us. Considering that we only have 1 family member in town and the "young" friends we have are too busy being "young" and or can't handle Alex in his present state. Not to mention, they can't drive. So, now that Shawna (25+?) has offered to babysit, I think we'll be having more of a social life. Yeah, for Shawna!
So, we went to see "I love you, Man" It was really funny and what a treat to sit with Chris, not be interrupted by crying, eat popcorn and share a cherry coke. Afterwards we called to see how things were going and Alex was screaming in the background. Not to worry, Shawna said they were have a very calm conversation about how when daddy came home he would help him to bed and kiss him good night. I told her it was fine to let him stay on the couch and that did the trick. So we proceeded to stupidly try and find a place to eat at 10pm on a Sunday night and ended up at Denny's.. Whatever, as long as we were together. Actually my grilled turkey sandwich was very good.
We arrived home to find a very sleepy buy awake little boy and Chris put him down after a round of kisses and thank yous. We ended the night with Chris asleep and me and Lauren sitting on the couch (not sleeping) til almost 2 am. Ugh.
All in all, we had a wonderful time. We held hands and reconnected. It's important, ya know?
Jen: I didn't turn off the phone, but I did forget it in the car.. Just a good. :)

Carina and I ate at a Denny's near the train station on Halloween and it was very good...better than Chili's...i can't believe that Lauren stayed up that late after her busy day.
Glad to hear you went on a date...man, we haven't held hands in about 8 years! Sigh... :)
